Meet Teri Riggs at Readers & 'ritas in November!

As part of our countdown to Readers & ‘ritas 2017, our Meet the Author interview series helps you get to know the authors joining us in Texas on November 10-12. Read on to get acquainted with USA Today bestselling author Teri Riggs, and purchase your tickets to meet her in person at Readers & ‘ritas!

What book made you fall in love with the genre you write?

I love all romantic suspense books, and the only good thing about being an insomniac is I can usually read a book a day. I love so many authors who write in the genre. JD Robb, Linda Howard, Cynthia Eden, and Lisa Jackson are just a few. I’ve been reading for so long, I’m not really sure which book sealed the deal for me.

If a movie were made of your most recent book, who would you cast in the lead and why?

My newest release is FOREVER PARADISE. It’s the third book in my Heaven’s Beach Love Stories series. I could see Scott Eastwood playing Sheriff Zachariah Simmons. He’s tall, handsome, and sexy. If I’d written the book twenty-five years ago, I’d have picked his father, Clint Eastwood, as my hero.

What was the first story you ever wrote?

The first book I ever wrote was Stalking Tessa. It’s buried deep in cyberspace somewhere, and I will probably never release it. My first published book is THE EYES DIE LAST.

If you could change the ending to any famous book, TV show, or movie, what would it be and how would you rewrite it?

Romeo and Juliet. I saw the movie from 1968 and loved the actors playing the star-crossed lovers…And I may have had a tiny crush on Leonard Whiting. His naked backside was the first one I ever saw. LOL. I hate that such innocence and true love had to die. But I guess a tragedy needs a tragic ending. I still would’ve preferred them to live. Maybe they could’ve traveled through time together after their deaths helping other lovers overcome problems.

What is your favorite part of meeting your readers (and new readers)?

Seeing the smiles on their faces and hearing their voices for the first time. I’m always ready to meet new readers. I love talking about my books and hearing what they like to read.
