Hi readers, I’m Lexi. Some of you know me as the hockey romance author, but others might recognize me as the former NHL WAG who spills behind-the-scenes hockey tea on TikTok. Either way, if you’re hockey-obsessed and looking for your latest romance fix, you’ve come to the right spot.
I first got into hockey romance after learning that readers were discovering hockey through the novels, but remaining fans of the sport well beyond the Happily Ever After. My love for hockey romance initially began as a fun way to help teach new fans about the sport, but it quickly became a creative outlet for my writing and storytelling. Who better to tell a hockey romance tale than someone who has lived it?
My latest hockey romance novel, Evening the Score, is packed with emotion, wit, and of course - lots of hockey. When Olivia Hinckley takes a temporary job as an NHL mascot to seek revenge against the team’s new star player, Brody Parker, shenanigans ensue. While Olivia attempts to enjoy the best of both worlds, the mascot mask slowly slips as she discovers her once-perceived enemy isn't as horrible as she thought.
The life of a sports fan is full of difficult questions. Which team will I root for? Who will be my favorite player? Will I be intimidated by the team’s mascot, or will I gladly accept their furry high-five? In the spirit of the often-stressful sport fandom, please enjoy this hockey romance-themed game of this or that.
- Wearing his jersey or wearing a WAG jacket?
Hockey jerseys smell horrendously. WAG jackets are not only fun and spirited, but they’re much more flattering. However, he wears her jersey?! Now that’s a trope I can get behind.
- Stanley Cup or Olympic Gold?
Stanley Cup. It’s the hardest trophy to win and coolest to lift. I’d eat poutine out of it if given the chance.
- Coach’s daughter or brother’s teammate?
Coach’s daughter, but only because the team’s mascot was emotionally unavailable.
- Tying her skates or getting her tickets?
In this economy? Getting free hockey tickets. I’ll tie my own skates.
Pro hockey. I’d love to read or write something PWHL. Go Torrent!
Goalie every time. Give me a weirdo. Watch me match that freak.
- Rivals-to-lover or teammates-to-lovers?
Rivals. I’m still obsessing over Heated Rivalry and can't wait for season two. How good was that cottage episode?! See, now I'm getting off topic.
- Hockey fight or hat-trick?
As the wife of a former grinder who is no stranger to hockeyfights.com, I love it when they drop the gloves.
- Shoot Your Shot or Evening The Score?
Both, but I’ll let you be the judge.
As a lifelong hockey fan and player, I am honored to be welcomed into the loving embrace of the hockey romance world. You’re all incredible teammates. Evening The Score is for you! I hope you enjoy it.

A Fun and Flirty Romance for fans of Heated Rivalry
USA TODAY bestselling author, NHL insider, and TikTok influencer Lexi LaFleur Brown is back with another trope—packed, spicy, hockey—accurate rom com!
Don't get mad—get even.
A grudge hates to see Olivia Hinckley coming. Years ago, a dirty hit ended her late father’s NHL career with the Minnesota Freeze. It was never fair that Erik Parker walked away with little more than a penalty, but it’s worse that her father's rival is now up for Hall of Fame induction. On top of that, Erik's son—hockey’s golden boy, Brody—just signed on to play for the Freeze. Determined to dismantle the Parker legacy, Olivia enacts a revenge plot that has her donning the Freeze’s mascot costume to gain intel on the Parkers. And she can’t help but mess with Brody’s gameplay—and his heart for good measure. After all, what’s a little fake dating between enemies?
Brody Parker only ever wanted to play hockey for fun, but the pressure of being part of hockey’s “First Family” has him dodging nepotism allegations along with high sticks. Erik might act like Father of the Year when the cameras are on, but behind closed doors, Brody struggles with his father’s impossible expectations. Preserving Erik’s image is a full—time job, but lucky for Brody, his new connection with Olivia is a welcome (spicy) distraction.
When Brody finally opens up to Olivia, she never expected she’d pity a Parker for anything. Suddenly, she wants to protect her once—enemy. The romantic feelings she faked are now unexpectedly real, but after leading Brody on for so long, can she keep the lies and the truth straight before she accidentally blows up his whole life?

Hockey and Romance with a Little Revenge Sprinkled In!
Lexi LaFleur Brown comes from a long line of hockey fans, so it was no surprise when she decided to hit the ice herself. Having grown up in the crease, she has seen it all. From the bottom of a dog pile after a big win, to the long quiet bus ride home after a loss and is better having faced both. Hockey laid the foundation for Lexi’s can-do determination, which transferred nicely to her passion for education. She has an MS in Public Relations and a PhD in Education. When Lexi’s not writing hockey romance, she’s chronically online. With a large social media following, she advocates for more inclusivity in hockey, cracks jokes, and shares a glimpse into her own post-meet cute hockey life.
