SECOND CHANCE COLTON is Marie Ferrarella's contribution to a great romantic suspense series about the Colton's of Oklahoma. The drama began in Beth Cornelison's COLTON COWBOY PROTECTOR and continues with quite a punch. The Colton's of Oklahoma is a collaborative effort including some very talented authors who treat the reader to a glance at their individual writing styles while forging ahead with a mystery that unfolds right before your eyes. Once again I will be purposely vague since this series is too delightful to miss.
The Colton family is still reeling from the scary unsettling events that have them all looking over their shoulders. At the Lucky C, too many unexplained events have the Colton's turning to the authorities to see if the dots can be connected. Detective Ryan Colton is faced with looking for a common denominator of a series of mishaps and vandalism that seem to point to the one person Ryan can't fathom -- his sister Greta. Greta is a horse trainer who travels a great deal to ranches that requires her expertise. Add to that the fact that Greta is rather busy planning her wedding to Mark Stanton.
How can Ryan dismiss some very damaging evidence? He needs help. Help comes from a familiar person, Susan Howard, who is indisputably the best at what she does -- forensics. But if that is the case, then how is it possible that Susie insists that the DNA evidence points to Greta?
At first Susie adamantly stands by her scientifically acquired conclusion of Greta's guilt. Ryan is equally sure that there must be a mistake but can't find a way to convince Susie of the fallibility of her findings.
Marie Ferrarella leads us on a voyage of discovery that confounds the reader. SECOND CHANCE COLTON opens our eyes to some very interesting family secrets. Secrets that Ferrarella hopes will lead us all to a plausible conclusion. Only time will tell. This series keeps getting better. Wait for it. Wait for it. Enjoy.
